The heat is back. There was about 3 or 4
weeks where I wore every pair of socks and shorts, and jackets that I
owned because the night was so cold. But now it is back to sweltering
hot days and perfect nights. it was the shortest winter I have ever
seen. I think I will kind of miss the cool weather.
It is sugar cane burning season. Every night we ride home next to
sugar cane fields that are getting burned for some reason that I don't
really know, I think it helps dry them out or something.... and it is like an
epic adventure scene in the pitch black darkness with huge flames
licking at our bike wheels. Pretty exciting.
I also ate my first sugar cane. You just cut off a huge chunk
and chew on it and suck out all the sugar cane juice which is AMAZING
and spit out all the woody stuff. Who would have thought sugar cane
makes great juice.
Had a conference in Vitoria which was super spiritual, I always
feel the spirit so strongly with all these little missionaries. I love
being with a bunch of missionaries and watch them share the gospel.
Makes me happy. but this conference also included sleeping or lack there
of, in bus stations two nights in a row (because Quissamâ is in the
middle of nowhere and only has buses at special hours). We literally
only got 5 hours of sleep for 48 hours and we went the next
day and taught our normal hours and everything. Our lessons were ridiculous but I hope
the spirit was there helping us.
Life is good!
sure love you all!
